Topical treatments for sebaceous and adnexal carcinomas

Sebaceous carcinoma usually requires surgery, so topical medicines are not standard treatment. This resource notes early research on topical mitomycin C, which may shrink tumors while sparing healthy tissue, but evidence is limited and more studies are needed. Because these cancers can be aggressive, decisions about any non surgical therapy should be made with a specialist who can review risks and benefits. Patients and caregivers can use this overview to understand why surgery is preferred and what investigational options may be discussed.
